I am a graduate of a nine-week Housekeeping course
at The Hotel Industry Training Centre, which is now the Hospitality
Industry Training and Development Centre (HITDC), and I see the
course that I did as a key to my success in the industry.
After graduation, I worked as Room Attendant at the Holiday Inn
Golden Mile Hong Kong Hotel where I applied all the skills and
knowledge that I had learnt on my training course.
I am a hard working person and always willing to learn from others.
This attitude has assisted me to rise through the ranks from a Room
attendant to senior position then eventually to Assistant
Housekeeper.
In 2005 I was promoted, and moved to the Express by Holiday Inn at
Causeway Bay, and took up the position of Executive Housekeeper,
responsible for the management of the Housekeeping Department.
When I think about the last 10 years, I am certain that I made the
right decision in joining the hospitality industry and in
particular, taking the training course at the Hospitality Industry
Training and Development Centre (now HITDC). I owe a special thank
you to the centre and the instructors for giving me the chance to
learn from them. This has helped to get where I am today and to
reach my personal career goal.
I would like to take this opportunity to encourage all trainees: to
grasp every chance to learn, be determined and confident. I am sure
you will have a bright future.
