I graduated with a "Certificate in Front Office
and Housekeeping Operations" from the Hospitality Industry Training
and Development Centre (HITDC, formerly the Hotel Industry Training
Centre) in 1994 and have worked in different hotels and various
departments since then. At present I am a telephone services
supervisor at the "YMCA International House". I left the Industry to
set up my own business for a while but I decided to return to the
industry in 2000 as my heart was in hotel work.
From my point of
view, language is very powerful asset and very useful for the hotel
industry, therefore, I am now studying Japanese in my spare time. I
still keep in touch with my instructor at the HITDC and sometimes
return to HITDC to visit them, I also love sharing my experiences
with the HITDC trainees. At the YMCA, many new staff come from HITDC
so I am very proud to be part of that family as it is still one of
the best training schools in Hong Kong.
